Working on the success of our previous courses and the family
atmosphere.

Our courses run for all ages with our youngest attendees being 10 for non-
residential and 11 for residential, and our eldest attendees being in their
70's.  With all ages, and nationalities that you can imagine.

Once again the emphasis will be on technique and fitness.  The course
director ensures attention to detail and personal care for participants with
a ratio of no more than 1 coach to 12 pupils

The course is limited to 60 spaces and is on a first come first served
basis.
Please check availability before submitting any
forms.

The Performance Courses provide an excellent opportunity for both
fencers and pentathletes to prepare for the oncoming season and to
ensure that their condition and skills are in top shape.

Each day will incorporate up to 5 hours tuition.  There is also the
opportunity in the evenings to put all this tuition into practice with free
fencing for up to 3 hours.

The course will be lead by three Hungarian top coaches who have all
produced World Championship fencers and  they will be supported by up
to three English coaches.

The course is directed by Steven Davey of the Aldershot Fencing Club who
has in his own right trained a young foilist to World Championship level in
2006.

The Hungarian coaches we are drawing on are as follows:-  Istvan
Lukovich, Akos Patocs, and Bela Patocs, and assisted by 3 English
coaches and coordinated by Steven Davey.

Istvan Lukovich has been teaching fencing at the faculty of PE and
Sport Sciences of the Semmelweis University of Budapest for over 50
years and is now part-time member of staff. He is the author of ‘Electric
Foil Fencing, advanced competitive training’ and ‘Fencing, the modern
international style’. Both books have had a great influence on the
education of British fencing coaches.

Akos Patocs recently qualified at the Semmelweis University of
Budapest under the guidance of Lukovich and Szepesi and trains two
groups of national standard fencers.

Bela Patocs was trained under the direction of Istvan Lukovich in all three
weapons at Semmelweis University of Budapest.  Under his direction one
of his fencers won the 'junior world championship' in ladies Epee.

Please note that we will be moving to Cranleigh School, Cranleigh,
Surrey:-
